As a private practice, our clinic could not be all that it is today without the continuous support of our patients, community, and of course, our talented and compassionate providers! This month, ANC is proud to be tipping our hats to the Doctors, Nurses, and team members who work to make our practice the best it can be each day!
What our team loves about Nephrology
Being so specialized, our team often gets asked what drew them into Nephrology. Compared to other medical specialties, Nephrologists frequently call upon mathematical reasoning in order to solve complex problems. Daily, Nephrologists utilize their math expertise to determine the best ways to approach electrolyte disorders and even formulate dialysis treatment plans.
The intersections of the renal and endocrine systems, renal and rheumatology, and renal and cardiology are also huge points of interest in our doctors – overlaps that aren’t frequently studied among other disciplines! It is for this reason that Nephrology tends to be a notoriously difficult field in terms of fellowship. Needless to say, our team is full of passionate problem solvers who never shy away from a challenge!
Daily challenges in the field
Nephrologists have a unique perspective on treating chronic illness. Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a condition that providers aim to prolong as it moves down the cycle. For providers, the ultimate challenge lies in having a clear understanding of each patient’s unique responses to different treatment plans and how to adjust different variables to account for any discrepancies. Additionally, kidney patients top the charts as a patient population with the highest number of prescribed medications, so providers need to be effective in issuing accountability and understanding.
Why our team chose ANC
It can be easy to get swept up in the rigorous schooling, programs, and work opportunities in nephrology, but our culture at ANC has always been built around promoting balance – balance for our patients and balance for our providers. We believe in improving the quality of our providers’ lives and the way this results in an improved quality of care offered to patients. At our practice, we’ve found that this approach also increases the perspective of our providers, helping them empathize with the experiences of patients at all stages in a way that larger hospitals can’t seem to replicate.
In bettering our practice, we strive to forge genuine connections throughout our team. To our providers, ANC is one big happy family. There’s never a moment when our team fails to check on each other. From a patient perspective, even though you may be assigned to a single provider, the ANC team works to collaborate on your care constantly! The way our team works dutifully to address all patients’ needs is the day-to-day greatness that makes our providers proud to represent ANC.
Our team’s hopes for the future of Nephrology
Looking forward, ANC has many hopes for the future of nephrology. Accessibility is a huge topic in modern discourse as it relates to home programs for dialysis and the way the nephrology profession conducts educating patient populations on CKD. In addition to in-clinic medical advice, ANC is constantly striving to promote quality content that is reliable across our social media content, newsletter, and team-sourced blog content!
If you find yourself in need of care or resources, we encourage you to check out our pages and stop by to see our dream team! As we continue our dedicated mission to seeing and treating patients in the MSP area, we’d like to extend sincere thanks to our team and our current patients in the community who have helped us spread awareness to educate others on the battle of CKD and other renal diseases.
